Students in the Word shares a word....
Devotion by Nate Giltmier (8th)
Inspiration- My inspiration is people that are nervous and afraid during this time. I believe God is watching over us and is trying to calm and comfort us.
Scripture reference- “You (God) rule the raging of the sea;
when its waves rise, you still them.” (Psalm 89:9)
Personal relevance- This verse really helped me because I was a little nervous at first because my Mom is working at the Hospital and delivering medication to patients. That means she comes in contact with lots of sick people every day. The thought of that scared me at first; Now I feel much better because I know God is with me and is calming the waves in my life.
Application to Others- How is God Keeping you safe and calm during the virus?
Stay Safe and know God is with you.

Students in the Word .... shares a Word with you! SITW devotion By Layla Christian (7th)
With everything going on in the world right now it’s really chaotic and we try to be content by looking at our phones or going on social media when instead we should be reading our bibles and realizing that God is the only real way out of this.
COVID-19 stands for “coronavirus disease of 2019”, although I’ve heard it as “christ over viruses and infectiousness diseases.”
2 chronicles 7:13-14 state “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my
people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
All 3 of these things are happening right now. God is clearly trying to say that if we pray and turn from our wicked ways then He will forgive our sins and HEAL OUR LAND. It took me a while to realize this but this is the answer as to why everything is happening. God has put the world on pause so that we will focus on him.
My source of inspiration was a video I found from a social media influencer. His name is Hayden Wiggins and he posts Christian related content on his account. the video said “COVID-19, Joshua 1:9, they both have 19, It’s a sign.” He went live one night and I joined it. His words really put everything into a different perspective.he said “what if someone who is home due to corona, would’ve been out driving if there was no virus and got into a car accident or died. I was saved that night and since then I’ve been more focused on god, i wouldn’t have been watching that if it weren’t for this break.
I hope you too will be able to focus more on god and realize what he is trying to say to you today.
